- An allergic reaction. Rarely, xasten may result in an allergic reaction. Xasten Tablet Interactions
The effects of systemic corticosteroids may be lessened by concurrent use of barbiturates, carbamazepine, phenyltoin, primidone, or rifampicin, which may increase metabolism. As with other corticosteroids, however, ritonavir or oral contraceptives may lower xasten plasma concentrations. The use of thiazide or furosemide may result in a disproportionate potassium loss. Hypokalemia is more likely to happen when amphotericin or bronchodilators are used along with xanthines or beta2 agonists. When Xasten is taken with NSAIDS, the risk of gastrointestinal bleeding and ulcers may be higher. Xasten may change how the body reacts to anticoagulants and may also make it more likely that you will need blood pressure and diabetes medicines. Xasten may also lessen the effects of anticholinesterase and salicylate serum concentrations in myasthenia gravis.
