On April 10, 2026, we held the launch ceremony of the NCC Electrophysiology Brain–Computer Interface Joint Innovation Center together with a workshop on brain–computer interface projects.
The event brought together industry experts, hospital and academic representatives, industry partners and relevant government departments. Together, we witnessed the launch of the Joint Innovation Center and discussed innovation in brain–computer interfaces and their potential applications in healthcare.
During the launch session, representatives from government departments, industry investment and life-science organizations shared their views on our development in high-end medical devices and brain–computer interfaces. The discussion highlighted the role that policy support, industrial resources and park-based services can play in supporting collaboration across brain science, engineering and medicine.
Hospital and academic representatives highlighted the importance of connecting basic research, clinical validation and industrial translation. They also shared expectations that the Joint Innovation Center would help advance research oriented toward clinical needs and patients.
The event also included the launch of a project under a Ministry of Industry and Information Technology "Open Competition Projects " initiative.

At the event, we introduced our experience in electrophysiology and our strategic planning related to brain–computer interfaces. We also presented the proposed positioning, platform capabilities and incubation framework of the Joint Innovation Center.
Guided by clinical needs, driven by technical innovation and oriented toward industrial translation, the center will serve as a platform for exploring innovation in medical applications of brain–computer interface technologies.
Following the launch session, participants visited the High-End Medical Device Industry Innovation Service Platform and the NCC Electrophysiology Brain–Computer Interface Joint Innovation Center. The visit introduced the facilities and support capabilities associated with activities ranging from research and development to pilot-scale testing.
During the project workshop, we presented four prospective incubation projects covering neuroregulation, brain-function research, scoliosis screening and remote EEG management:

These projects were presented as incubation projects for discussion. Their regulatory classification, clinical evidence, approval status and commercial availability will be subject to the applicable technical and regulatory requirements.
The roundtable brought together clinical and industry representatives to discuss the practical development of brain–computer interface technologies. The conversation focused on technical barriers, clinical needs and possible pathways for industrial translation.
Participants also discussed potential areas of application, including neurorehabilitation, neurological disease care and intelligent assistance. These topics represented areas of discussion at the event and should not be interpreted as claims of clinical efficacy, treatment performance or patient outcomes.

We will continue to integrate clinical resources, research and development capabilities, industrial capital and policy support through the Joint Innovation Center. Our focus will remain on key technologies related to medical applications of brain–computer interfaces and on exploring pathways that may move selected innovations from laboratory research toward clinical settings.
Looking ahead, the Joint Innovation Center will maintain its focus on responsible technology and medicine–engineering collaboration while continuing to explore medical innovation in the brain–computer interface field. Through this platform, we aim to encourage collaboration among research institutions, hospitals, industry and relevant public-sector stakeholders, and contribute to the development of the brain–computer interface sector.
